No audition is necessary.
Praise Team:
The Praise Team is used each week to lead in worship and provide special music. Commitment, faithfulness, a teachable spirit, and the desire to have fun are required to be part of the praise team, along with:
- A vocal or instrument audition
- Interview with Worship Pastor
- Faithful member of the choir
The Praise team meets weekly, currently on Wednesday's from 7:30-8:30. They also meet Sunday morning for sound check at 8:30 am.
Soloists:
Soloists are used to lead in worship and encourage God's people through song. While the message and the heart are important, it is also important that the soloist be vocally able to convey his or her heart and message. Therefore, vocal ability, color, and confidence are necessary. Soloists will work with the worship pastor in song selection and preparation, but are also encouraged to build their own repertoire to assist in the flow of ideas.
It is the desire of the music staff to notify you several weeks in advance of your time to sing. There will be some exceptions when the Pastor may change his topic, but we will always be sensitive to you and your schedules.
You are encouraged to pick songs with a clear message and in your range. Please make sure your tracks are in good condition. Avoid songs that have long band breaks and fade endings. If live accompaniment is desired, please allow for additional rehearsal time.
Soloists must sing their selection for the worship pastor prior to their singing date, preferably on Wednesday after choir rehearsal. If this is not possible, you must make other arrangements to go over your song prior to Sunday morning. Sound check for Sunday morning will be at 8:00am.
Sound Team:
The sound team is used each week to provide balanced sound and technical assistance for all individuals or groups that require amplification. The sound team will be responsible for special productions and any additional services that require sound. Weddings, funerals, VBS are some examples of additional services. The technician should keep educated on current equipment and trends and work with the director to provide the best atmosphere possible for worship. Commitment, faithfulness, a teachable spirit, and ear for music, some technical experience and the desire to be excellent are the requirements to participate on the sound team. The sound team rehearses with the Choir and praise team on Wednesday's from 6:00-8:30 PM. The team will arrive at 8:15 am or earlier to insure that all equipment and system checks are in place and ready for the 8:30 am sound check.
Video Team:
The Video Team is used each week to promote a worshipful atmosphere using video projection. The Video Team should be in place on Sunday's at 8:15 am to make sure all equipment is in working order and to go over any special needs for that day. The technician should keep educated on current software and equipment that would be beneficial for the worship experience. Commitment, faithfulness, a teachable spirit, some technical experience and the desire to be excellent are the requirements to be on the Video Team.
